It takes a few things. First, you should be logged on as the Notes account. Do not be in as root. You need to be in the Notes program directory, usually /opt/bin/lotus. From there, you can call the compact command (No "n", as that is for "NT") to compact your files which need to be identified, much like via DOS. Something along the lines of compact /datadir/file.nsf
